Sony Suspends User Accounts After ‘Suspicious Activity’ on PlayStation Network

In what may become the “straw” that broke the brand reputation to Sony, Corporation’s, PlayStation Network, the company announced on Wednesday that it was forced to suspend around 93,000 user accounts after discovering a significant number of unauthorized sign-in attempts.  The latest suspension comes just 6 months after Sony was hit by a cyber-attack on its PlayStation Network that, at the time, was the largest reported data breach for a private organization.  While user credit card information was not at risk, according to the company, Sony is trying to feverishly reconstruct its brand reputation in the online gaming community.  Mission-critical information is the most valuable commodity to any organization, and how the organization treats the data will determine the long-term viability of its business venture.  This is the second strike for Sony.  Can even a giant like Sony, Corp., take a third strike?  To be continued…
